Love Mantra


As I was working on a painting this week a mantra came to me. And as I sat with this in meditation the words began weaving in an out, swirling all around my body. They expanded to reach every organ and cell within me, and then grew, touching every corner of the universe. These words became more than a mantra. They've felt like a song, or magic incatation of a sort. Enchanted I've been with the feeling it brings me, and wanted to portray a bit of this through this piece.

Mixed media happens to be my favorite medium, and was excited when this spoke to me, just waiting to be born. I visited the Tualitin River Wildlife Refuge this weekend, and was inspired to say the very least. The animals that graced me with their precence left me in awe. And I have a feeling even more will make an appearance here as I continue to unravel the magic and beauty this place has provided me. For now, this will do.

May we all remember to stop each day and take in the gifts these amazing creatures and all of nature are just bursting at the seems to give us.

So I had BIG plans. My family that I nanny for surprised me with an extra week paid vacation last week, and I about exploded in happiness when they told me. #bestnannysupriseever. I made plans to fill my days getting together with friends, going on fun dates, and excursions to all my favorite places; lakes, hiking trails, maybe even the beach. Adventures in the Dating World and the Golden Rule

A woman I had been dating brought to my attention on a Thursday night that she did not feel ready to move forward in relationship (ie: "wanted to keep things casual, and didn’t want something serious” ), and so we agreed to part ways. This particular scenario, or some version of it happened to be a recurring theme in my dating life. You can imagine how overjoyed by this I was. Even after I thought I had been SO careful to “not allow something like this in” Ha! Big wake up call for me here : what needs to be seen/healed ALWAYS finds a way in. *Something to note here: recurring themes are HUGE signs letting us know that we have work to do in this particular area, and it will keep coming back around until it's fully healed and cleared within us. Choice Points

I was inspired by a dear friend this week to focus in on a topic most widely known as “blocks” (in other words..the crappy things we feel). My friends and I refer to this as resistance. The feelings rising up inside us needing attention that take the form of aspects such as; sadness, avoidance, tiredness, hunger, blame, anger, and all those seemingly very important things that simply must get done right this very instant, conveniently making it almost impossible to sit down and face whatever is causing said resistance. This has been me so very many times. Most recently, Saturday mornings have been a thing. After my 50 hour work week I wake up, check fb, and on my off days.. just lay there. In bed, in my cozy room.
